In Uptown Westerville there is a fabulous little store called Outside Envy that carries all kinds of whimsical gifts and garden accessories. Kriss Rogers, the owner, is there to greet my dog, Mika, and I almost every morning with a dog cookie and what Mika considers to be the best damned water in the land. After our snack, both the dog and I love to browse around the lovelies in the shop. One of our favorites is the birth month Guardian Angel made of crystals that is the perfect gift for my special yoga friends. The windchimes are also superb and come in all varieties, sizes, and with the most wonderful souful tones

My favorite purchase so far has been the Soji solar lantern of which I have three. I bought the blue and purple lanterns first and hung them from my trees in the garden where they glow invitingly in the dark. Then I bought the white one to hang from my bean tower in the vegetable garden and holy smokes! Since my art studio looks out over the garden I can see this lantern glow mysteriously amber all night long like a harvest moon; coincidentally (or not) I am working on a series of moon paintings and the Soji lantern has become my muse. Laura – Westerville

Uptown Westerville is a really pleasant place to visit. It's also a pleasant place to walk your dog. You get to socialize with folks, you can sit out and eat ice cream, drink coffe, or just simply watch the world go by. There are several "dog friendly" establishments that welcome you (my dogs just insisted that I add that these wonderful places also hand out treats—for dogs—and they suggested that we head right on up there. NOW). Even though it's sometimes hard to Shop With Dogs, when I wanted to buy some windchimes not long ago, I knew exactly which ones I wanted, because Blue had already chosen them!

Everytime we'd visit Kriss, Blue and Big Mac and I would walk in (ok, anybody who ever saw the procedure knows that "walking" isn't accurate: we barged through the door at high speed) and the boys would race to the counter where Kriss would hand them treats. After this little ritual was complete, Blue would begin his windchime concert. He'd very gently nudge the chimes and listen attentively. After many visits (and many treats), it was clear there was one particular set of chimes that he favored. Now we all enjoy them here at home—they remind me of temple bells near a mountain stream. But I'm pretty sure they remind Blue it's time to go back up to Outside Envy for a treat!

Welcome to our new website. It’s hard to believe that the store is going to celebrate its 4th birthday on August 26th; it’s been an amazing journey developing the store to where we are today and along the way we have made some great friends with our customers, vendors and artists. We are very excited to have a fresh way to bring our unique merchandise to you. The site will be updated often with new gift items just like the store! In addition we will share information and tips on things that we find interesting covering everything from gardening and “how to” tips as well as color and merchandise trends that we find at market. We hope to often feature guest bloggers who are also our customers and have them share their thoughts with us on gardening, art, the store or whatever is on their mind that you might find entertaining and informative. Thanks for supporting the store and the local economy over the past four years; we really appreciate your business. If you are new to our store, again I say welcome and thanks for the opportunity for us to become your destination for unique gifts in Uptown Westerville!
